The Bavarian musician David Lubega born on 04.13.1975 in Munich (Germany) the light of day. The mother is from Calabria in southern Italy, the father of Uganda. Latter drew it in 1972 to study biology at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. The first years of life spent Lou Bega mostly with the mother in the home. However, for enrollment, he was living in Munich again. As a teenager, he moved for a year and half after Miami (Florida, USA) and later for half a year to Uganda.
With two friends he founded as a 13-year-old initially a Hip Hop group. Through the above-mentioned stay in the south of the United States David Lubega came into contact with the Latin-American music, which inspired him. Later he met in the Bavarian homeland on his times there Manager Goar Biesenkamp and producer Achim Kleist and Wolfgang von Webenau. developed together with them Lou Bega the idea for future summer hit Mambo No. 5, which is a reinterpretation and textualization an instrumental piece from the 40s.
The debut single "Mambo No. 5" was released on 19.04.1999 in Germany. After the overwhelming success of the number in Germany with eleven weeks at the top of the German single charts and double-platinum song in the summer has been internationally published we hit a world like a bomb. The debut album "A Little Bit Of Mambo" was released on 19.07.1999 and reached in 13 countries platinum status. The two also decoupled from the album singles "I Got A Girl" and "Tricky Tricky" could not build on the success of the debut. In the ECHO Awards 2000, he was in the "Single of the Year (national)" and "National Artist Abroad" excellent. The second album Lou Bega's fared similarly to the singles, "Ladies and Gentlemen" was not nearly enough on the success of the first work zoom.
