ARSENAL OF MEGADETH
For more than 20 years Megadeth are at the forefront of the international metal scene. Your very dynamic, but at the same time equipped with many delicate intricacies Thrash Metal refers not only musically position but has always placed its content finger into open wounds and critical look at excesses of Western societies. With Arsenal Of Megadeth Megadeth present the first comprehensive DVD collection of her career, a retrospective of the past more than two decades that were just so full of highlights. Nearly three hours, starting with early footage as'Peace Sells` or'Wake Up Dead` and interviews from the early days to unreleased live recordings of'Gigantour` last year, there is a retrospective special here. The group provides insights into their rehearsal room, lets the cameras at video shoots turn behind the scenes and has made recordings among others, the '90er'Clash of the Titans` tour and an unplugged show in Argentina available. Mustaine himself has additionally ausgekramt material his private collection and commented together with his colleagues in interviews many special events in his career. In addition to all 20 original music clips, there are other 32 previously unreleased sequences documenting the rise and development of the band to world stardom.
Dave Mustaine was in 1983 together with bassist Dave Ellefson, guitarist Kerry King (Slayer) and drummer Lee Rauch to first cast. Shortly before, he had been fired because of massive alcohol problems and Metallica
had "to show revenge and to them how man's makes right" founded his own band Megadeth. Ellefson remembers the first lineup: "Lee never saw itself as Megadeth member and Kerry King indeed played like a madman, was in his thoughts but still with Slayer." Before the year King returned to his old friends and was replaced by Chris Poland, for Lee Rauch came Gar Samuelson. Ellefson remained. That the Blonde Bassist was not available at the moment, is due to its self-image. "Dave attaches great importance to being the head of the group. I was against it at that time almost a child. I came from a farm in Minnesota to Los Angeles, was completely inexperienced and just wanted to be here."
With Poland and Samuelson was born in a small Indiependent label debut album Killing Is My Business ... And Business Is Good, was available for just $ 4,000 budget. When picked up in ten days work suffered from a lousy sound, however, the harsh musical direction quickly found friends around the world. With a new record deal and the single release'Peace Sells` the band in 1986 rose in the form of Peace Sells ... But Who's Buying? in the US Billboard charts and received two years later for a Gold Award. 1992 even followed the platinum award. But Mustaine made his reputation as an eccentric further honor and fired Poland and Samuelson. "They fit stylistically. Chris came rather from the Jazz and was our direction never happy. With Youthanasia Megadeth published in 1994 her first Top 5 album, Mustaine founded the project MD 45 (with Fear singer Lee Ving) and published The Craving.
