Rafał Blechacz was born on 30 June 1985 in Nakło nad Notecią (Poland). At age five he received his first piano lessons at a Local music center, three years later he joined the Arthur Rubinstein Music School in Bydgoszcz a. From 1996 to 1999 he won the first prizes at several national piano competitions in Poland. In May 2007 he graduated from the Feliks Nowowiejski Music Academy in Bydgoszcz from Professor Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń.
