"Authentic as on this album is not about more," says one completely satisfied with Roland Bless.
So he is now making his own thing - without compromise and absolutely convincing! "I've always written my own songs, only I had not even publish until recently the possibility of this kind of music that means so much to me."
Roland Bless is 49 years young, he lives in the Stuttgart area and stood until the end of 2009 with PUR on stage. Bless was a founding member and has experienced and lived from the very beginning in the young school band Crusade (later Opus) the former youth club appearances and later the triumphant stadium concerts, of which there were hundreds in the past decades with PUR. At first, he was the drummer, later guitarist and vocalist. As a manager of the group, he was to "Adventure Land" album (1995) Decisive for the huge success partly responsible.
Over the years, it has been found, however, that it took care of both sides always less. "Really happy I was with PUR in years," Roland admits. "We have lived musically, but above all human apart." In the end there was the separation no alternative. Also, because it was not permitted to put his creativity. "I wanted to do well off the main road success music. And pop-rock with German lyrics that touch and move, take one. A music for I am generating times goosebumps times mitgrooven can. "
"BACK TO YOU" called Roland Bless his first album. The title fits perfectly. Because especially in the early years with PUR close contact with the fans was a decisive element in the success, which finally ceased to. "After every show we had contact with the audience, wrote autographs and chatted comfortably in the hall with people," says Bless recalls. "I have always enjoyed this close." Over the years and with increasing size of the venues the relationship between musicians and fans was more distant. "For PUR has me at the end of close contact with people who initially distinguished us and especially made were inadequate."
Bless it retracts into the small clubs, back to the people, which means his music much. He is a man who has not lost his grip. The after studying electrical engineering with his guitar through France and Spain withdrew, were songs of Cat Stevens and the Beatles on the road for the best and always felt that he has a wire to the audience. "In principle I do today is still the same," says Bless. "The band has taken me all existential fears, but the passion, I just sit and ask to play, which is just as large as 30 or 35 years ago."
His songs are impressive. Bless has an amazingly distinctive, strong and exceptionally soulful voice. And he can compose and swept the music. In its exclusively own songs, he stressed, the whole life reflects. There are cheerful and exuberant pieces, but also contemplative or sad moments. His music has an incredible range. The new CD takes the listener along with Roland about the ups and downs of his eventful life. "On the one hand I am a thoughtful person, at the other end of the spectrum, there are of course also songs that leave where I can let go so right."
Highlights the album has many. "Someone who loves you" as is anthemic, harmony and emotional. "Someone who carries you / FOr like stars in the sky is one. Someone who you can feel / Full touched deeply and you from your darkness leads ", Roland Bless sings the incoming melody. He himself is this song one of the most important. "I think it is not only very beautiful, but in its meaning also one of the biggest," he says. Also thrilling songs like "Love in your eyes" or the funky "It's summer" bring the positive and life-affirming basic setting of Roland Bless perfectly to the point.
The song "Maybe I'll see you tonight" is also a song so full of rhythm, energy and good humor. "Just this piece went really fast," says Roland reminded of those not too long past night in which he composed it. "The ideas are flown me formally. Shortly before midnight, I suddenly had the tune in my head at night at 5 o'clock in text and music were practically finished. "
Really soulful ballads put forward complete the picture of this CD. "Far out" sounds pleasant dreamy and sensitive. In the album title formative "star from heaven" describes the father of a daughter and a son his dreams and awakens fantasies.
In "We" finally Bless, who lives just a few kilometers from that place of horror theme, the Winnenden school shooting. The song is in its emotionality just Transferable to all the other comparable events.
Even the choice of the producer's Roland Bless back to basics. With Dieter Falk, the plate produces an old confidant and companion. The PUR milestones "Seiltänzertraum" and "Adventureland" emerged at that time under his direction. "Dieter was enthusiastic about my songs and lyrics and very much wanted to work again with me," says Roland Bless. "And for me it was then no question that we do it together." The new frontier thus also lives a piece held continuity.
In the spring of 2011, the CD will be released. Then Roland Bless will finally be able to re-live his passion: playing live. Being close to the fans. be touchable.
"I'll go out, give everything, sweating, shaking hands and just have great fun."
