The eponymous founder of the band grew as the eleventh of twelve children in the village of Dahlonega (Georgia, USA). The play the guitar learned Zac at the age of seven. As teen then Brown was already first solo concerts in local pubs. The first band he founded to finance with the performances already studying in college.
After the College Band was broken apart, Zac Brown formed a new band named after him. First, it was for the newly formed group on tour, the ambitious plan envisaged 200 concerts a year. As of 2004, the band played at the weekend in the Brown belonging club "Zac's Place" on Lake Oconee. The restaurant, however, was soon sold and purchased with the proceeds a tour bus.
The debut album "Far From Einstyne" was also recorded in 2004 and released on their own label, as well as the second album entitled "Homegrown". The third album of the Zac Brown Band was indeed still published at own label, but with the help of Atlantic Records. "The Foundation" then also reached the second place in the American country charts and the ninth on the US Billboard 200. It was awarded in the states with double-platinum and reached in Canada at least gold status. The resulting second single "Chicken Fried" reached the top of the country charts, after item 20 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and also double-platinum.
With "Toes," "Highway 20 Ride" and "Free" followed by three more country hits of the group. Nominations for various awards were not long in coming for the newcomer. As a consequence, the Zac Brown Band was awarded as such at the Grammy Awards of 2010. The charity album "Pass The Jar" was published on 04.05.2010 and reached the second place of the US country charts.
